A Magnificent and Large 16th Century Italian Coat of Arms. Venice. Circa 1580.

This beautifully carved coat of arms is believed to be from the noble family Balbi of Venice.
The central shield flanked by two scaled dragon like creatures with interlocked tails centred by the shield. To the centre of the shield are the three fishes of the noble Balbi family, to the left is a rampant lion impaled on a sword, to the right the lamb with sun above, lower left is carved with a templar type cross with five raised squares, bottom right is carved with five crowned lions. To the top of the coat of arms carved with a chalice.
