Late 19th-century Kurdish long rug from Persian Azerbaijan. This rug with its jewel-like colours, all naturally dyed, is made of rich, lustrous wool and is in full pile.

The red ground of he field with its central column of five octagons is enclosed by a sequence of guard stripes and multiple borders, the main border featuring a meander of flower heads and leaves on a yellow ground. The sides are overcast in multiple colours.
