Large Swiss Gold Full Hunter.

A fine large late 19th Century Swiss lever in an engine turned full hunter case.  High quality keyless damascened nickelled bar movement with going barrel, wolf’s teeth winding wheels.  Plain cock with polished steel regulator its long index on the curved section of the centre bridge.  Compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Straight line lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones in gold settings.  White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, fine blue steel Breguet hands. Substantial engine turned 18 carat gold full hunter case.  Small hand set lever under the front cover released when the front cover is closed.  Signed gold cuvette, number corresponding to that on the movement.

An impressive usable gold hunter in excellent overall condition.  The firm continues to this day producing wristwatches.  Henry Moser was one of the first to realize the potential of electricity, which he employed in his factory in Schaffhausen. He sold many watches in  Russia where he became watchmaker to the Czar.  He also supplied Faberge who often used Moser's movements in his clocks.
