An elegant 18th century free standing mahogany writing table. Later lined leather writing area. Finely cross-banded top. The Rectangular top with rounded projected corners, Having turned tapering fluted legs topped with hand carved tassels. The three frieze drawers are all each lined in mahogany with later gilt brass handles. The whole is very much in the influence of Gillow's of Lancaster, circa 1790. An almost identical writing table can be seen in a fine Grade 1 listed National Trust property 'Uppark House, South Harting, Petersfield. West Sussex'. Id No 137689.
