A fine 19th Century English freesprung lever in a substantial gold half hunter case.  Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel.  Engraved cock with garnet endstone.  

Compensation balance with freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring.  English table roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones.

White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Substantial plain 18 carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring, ribbed middle.  

Clip on back engraved with a coat of arms and monogram below.  Inside a dedication to their son dated May 1929, maker’s mark "RO" in an oval, and number corresponding to that on the movement.
