Large Chinese octagonal famille rose tureen and cover.
Qianlong (1736-95).
With moulded hare-head handles, the body decorated with sprays of flowers issuing from rockwork.
The shallow domed cover similarly decorated with floral sprays above a lambrequin border to the rim and flame finial. Within a border of gilt cracked ice pattern against an orange ground.
The spreading foot similarly decorated with a wide band of cracked ice interspersed by shaped cartouches containing flowers to the canted corners.
