A Victorian journeyman’s sample of a typical figured walnut oval tilt top ‘loo’ table, the top quarter veneered and with boxwood stringing and with a half round edge. The base with 4 turned pillar supports with and a central finial standing on carved cabriole legs.

A Loo table is a table model from the 18th and 19th centuries, originally designed for the playing of the card game ‘loo’, which was also known as lanterloo. The hinged, tip-top mecahanism, allowing for the easy storage of the table when not in use.
