A Japanned Side Table.

England, circa 1680 - 1700.

A rare early 18th century ebonised side table, the rectangular top with moulded edge inset with a rare panel of chinoiserie decoration of gilded highlights on a black japanned background, all above a single frieze drawer with pull handle, standing on turned legs joined by stretchers.
