Italian Giltwood Console Table Made in Rome, Circa 1740.
The rectangular marble top with central Spanish Brocatelle within a border of black above a moulded Sienna frieze, with a pierced scrolling foliate apron centred by a female mask, on square sectioned inverted baluster supports with beaded collar and acanthus scrolls.
Decorated with grotesque masks and husk trails, joined by X-shaped acanthus wrapped stretchers, centred by a circular platform headed by a flaming urn similarly carved with a grotesque mask, and terminating in turned feet.
