Japanese Bronze Vase Depicting Shoki Chasing Oni.

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large Meiji period 1868-1912 bronze vase depicting comical scenes of Oni’s being chased by the word Shoki, the scene after a famous painting, this exquisitely patinated multi coloured heavy Bronze vase depicts a pair of Oni’s in high relief and apparently being chased by Shoki, on this occasion depicted as two large onlaid characters SHO-KI, the vase also bears the artist name “Ukka Hoitsu” ( Art name Sakae Hoitsu ) from the original painting, and a rectangular seal, the segmented shaped top and red Autumnul patination add to this vases unique decorative charm , a fine quality Japanese Bronze vase to enhance your Japanese themed room setting .
