Directors Notes
Andrew Grima was a true legend of British jewellery design and his creative and distinctive gold work became one of his signatures. This was born from his quest to experiment and develop techniques that created a more organic finish, “… to make gold look like a material which nature might have produced.” Over the years his jewellery caught many an eye, from royalty to fashion icons, connoisseurs and experts to museums. By breaking with the conventions of the era he created jewels that were so original he is often regarded as the father of modern jewellery and his jewels are as coveted today as they were when he designed them.
