Gold Pair Cased English Verge.

Diameter: 49 mm.

A mid 18th Century English verge in gold pair cases.  Full plate fire gilt movement with decorative pierced gilt pillars.  Pierced and engraved cock, large diamond endstone in a polished steel setting, pierced and engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates.  Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Restored white enamel dial with Roman numerals, gold hands.  22 carat gold pair cases.  Plain gold inner, simple shutter to the winding aperture, small gold pendant and bow, maker’s mark “AC”.  Purpose made plain gold outer case hallmarked London 1788.
