George III period mahogany campaign or travelling dressing chest.  The hinged top opening to reveal various compartments for toilet accessories and a central hinged mirror. 

The lower part fitted with a writing drawer and a baize-lined adjustable reading-slope, sliding horizontally to reveal a drawer for pens and inkwells;  a further metal-lined drawer for a basin and soap dishes is concealed behind two dummy drawers and another deep drawer for bottles and a lower shallow drawer, also behind dummy fronts. 

The left hand lower drawer contains a commode seat and the right hand with a removeable painted tin liner, both supported on hinged legs.  All the drawers have their original brass lion’s mask ring handles and dummy locks with sliding catches.  Standing on four square tapered legs with brass box castors.
