A very fine George III flame veneered mahogany circular leather top drum table having four alternative oak lined frieze drawers and four false, all retaining gilt metal swan neck handles. Later leather inset lined top. The whole is supported on a turned fluted tapering column and four outswept reeded and panelled cabriole legs, each finely carved with an oval paterea. English, circa 1775.

Was this execution taken from Thomas Chippendale's 'Gentleman's and Cabinetmakers Director', which was first published in 1754.

A Christie's Auction 18th June 2008 Simon Sainsbury had a sale of many of his articles, a drum table vary similar which was acquired from Hotspur 14 March 1995 sold at Christie's Auction for £73,250.
