George III Leather Travelling Trunk.

Of Museum Interest, A George III Leather Domed Travelling Trunk by Lucas of The Kings Arms And Three Trunks, Charing Cross, London.

Bearing Original Trade Label.

By Appointment To His Majesty and His Royal Highness The Prince Of Wales.

Early 19th Century.

Height 26” (66cm) width 30” (76cm) depth 19” (48cm).

In extraordinarily good condition this trunk would have been protected by a canvas cover for 200 years. With highly decorative brass studded strapwork and brass and iron mounts the trunk has leather carrying handles and stands on iron castors. The canvas lined interior has its original sliding tray.
