A rare, large 19th Century French wallpaper printing block.

Carved with a complete repeat of an Empire acanthus leaf roundel with two circles of acanthus leaves, with central, upper and lower flowerhead motifs and elaborate acanthus leaf cresting. Stylised acanthus leaf decoration in the corners.

Made from two planks of oak.
