A fine and rare Franco-Flemish tobacco box, copper inlaid with silver, the whole inspired by Boulle furnishings of this same period; Louis XV, circa 1715-1750.
The fretted and inlaid silver was furtehr engraved at the time of making and sufficient if this engraving remains to know how this appeared. The lid and base are of two individual designs and a trailing, foliate design is continuous around the body.
5 5/8 in x 2 5/8 in x 1 1/8 in.
