'Forgotten', etching by Herbert Dicksee, initialled and dated 1922 within the image, published by Frost and Reed, 1923. Signed in pencil by the artist, within the original frame and with the label for the original retailing gallery, Louis Goodman, 63 Mount Pleasant, Liverpool, to the reverse.

Herbert Thomas Dicksee (1862–1942) was an English painter who specialised in oil paintings of dogs, particularly the deerhound. He belonged to an illustrious artistic family, his father being the artist John Dicksee (1817–1905). Dicksee studied art at the Slade School, London, on a scholarship and his first painting was exhibited in 1881.
