The Butter Shells each stand on two winkle feet and the main body is modelled to simulate a scallop shell.

The carrying handle is decorated with beading and engraved with a contemporary Crest.

Both are marked on the reverse of the handle and are in excellent condition.

Andrew Fogelberg was a very fine maker of Swedish descent with workshops in Soho, London.

His most famous apprentice was Paul Storr, arguably the greatest British Silversmith of the 19th century.

Beaded shells are rare to find and do not often appear on the market
