A Fine Pair of Genoese Console Tables in the Rococo Manner.
The bases in carved giltwood, with walnut tops, of arc-en-arbalette form, with re-entrant lobed corners; the legs rising from knurled feet, of sinuous form with richly carved foliage, and conjoined by a swept stretcher, with conforming foliate carving, and ‘c’ scrolls, with a stylised flambeau at the confluence. The apron is pierced and carved in a similar exuberant manner.
Italy, Circa 1730.
