A Fine Louis XVI Style Gilt-Bronze and Ebony Three-Light Desk Stand.
This elegant desk stand has an ebonised rectangular base with drawer, supporting a re-entrant gilt-bronze plinth with ball feet. The plinth supports a central gilt-bronze column with applied trophies and a flared trumpet shaped candle stem, terminating in a circular foliate cast drip tray and anthemion cast sconce. The central stem is flanked by winged cherubs holding the reins of chimeric animals, each supporting further candle sconces with palmette cast decoration.
