A Fine Louis XV Style Boulle, Gilt-Bronze and Tortoiseshell Inlaid Mantel Clock.
Stamped to the movement with the initial ‘F’.
This fine tortoiseshell inlaid clock has a circular dial with porcelain Roman numerals. The clock face is set within a drum head case flanked by scrolling volutes above a cavetto moulded breakfront plinth.
The clock is finely inlaid all over with ‘boulle’ brass and tortoiseshell arabesque framed by gilt-bronze guilloche and beaded borders and raised on fronded acanthus cast feet.
