Fine George III period mahogany wine cooler; octagonal with a moulded rim, two brass bands and a pair of cast-brass lion's-mask carrying-handles*; on a stand with widely-splayed legs with open brackets and original brass castors. With a later fitted zinc liner.
*The handsome brass handles are of the same pattern as those on a number of wine-coolers supplied by Thomas Chippendale.
