A Fine Centre Table Signed by Fernand Kohl in the Louis XV Manner.
Constructed in mahogany, rising from fluted and tapered cylindrical legs, with acanthus fire gilt bronze sabots, the apron having a centre drawer, with running entre lac foliate bands, the radiused corners containing a parquetry top, with a bronze trim. Signed to the base by the maker Paris, Circa 1878.
Fernand Kohl, situated at 55 Rue Traversiere, exhibited and obtained a bronze medal in the Paris Exhibition Universelle, in 1889, and is recorded in Denise LeDoux-LeBard's 'Dictionnaire des Ebenistes et Menuisiers de le XIXth Siecle' published by Editions de l'Amateur, in 1989.
