Fathers Foundry Cauldron.
A good example of a bronze cauldron from this Montacute (Somerset) foundry.
The triple arc mould mark in conjunction with what is considered a monogram of I & F certainly pertain to the Fathers foundry but could just as well belong to the grandfather of John Fathers II, his uncle, brother or nephew! Dating to around 1700, of good patina and excellent condition, retaining a good length of leg.
11.25 inches high x 11 inches diameter across the polished rim.
