This rare dish is rectangular in form and has a raised rim which is decorated with a beaded band. This piece has two heart shaped beaded carrying handles, which are decorated with a single flower head.
The centre of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Crest, flanked by a crossed branch cartouche. The Dish is in excellent condition and is very well marked on the reverse.
This type of dish is extremely rare. These dishes are termed asparagus/bacon dishes, however some believe that they were used for canapes.
They could, however, be used for a wide variety of things on the dining table.
