This Flatware set is modelled in the Fiddle and Thread Pattern and is double struck. It is of an exceptional gauge and weight and consists of:

12 Table Forks, Length: 8 inches, 20 cm.
12 Dessert Forks, Length: 6.9 inches, 17.25 cm
12 Dessert Spoons, Length: 7.15 inches, 17.88 cm.
12 Starter/Tea Spoons, Length: 5.75 inches, 14.38cm.

Each piece is engraved with a contemporary Armorial, with Crest above, and the Motto "Industria", engraved on a motto below. Each piece is in excellent condition and is very well marked.

The set also has ten serving items consisting of:

2 Large Gravy Spoons, Length: 12 inches, 30 cm.
4 Serving Spoons, Length: 8.75 inches, 21.88 cm
1 Sauce Ladle, Length: 7 inches, 17.5cm.
1 Sugar Sifter Spoon: Length: 5.9 inches, 14.75 cm.
2 Salt Spoons, Length: 4.4 inches, 11cm.

Francis Higgins was a specialist flatware maker of the finest quality, who occupied large workshops in Hatton Garden when this set was made.

It is most unusual to find a full Coat of Arms, Crest and Motto engraved on each piece in a flatware set. This indicates that it must have been commissioned by an extremely wealthy customer.
