This very unusual bowl is rectangular in form and stands on four detailed claw and ball feet, which are attached to the main body with acanthus leaf mouldings.
The lower section of the main body is decorated with lobing and the everted rim is decorated with raised scrolls, trailing foliage and flower heads.
The two unusual sweeping scroll handles are decorated with leaf capping and reeding. The interior has pale original gilding and the bowl is very well marked on the side of the main body.
This design is very similar to those made in the Paul Storr workshops and this example is in excellent condition.
The bowl is of a good large size and could be used for a number of purposes on the dining table.
