Japanese Imari Vase with raised Decoration, Lamped.
Rare and large example in perfect condition.
Depicting menacing hawks chasing a rabbit.
The whole composition is rather dynamic and realistically rendered.
The black enamelled background, green glazed leaves with gilded highlights on the edges and deep carnation red add depth to the scene.
t has been lamped from the top to preserve its integrity.
The vase measures: 42 cm high and 30 cm diam circa.
It comes with a gilded wooden base not shown in the photos.
