An Elizabeth I Silver-Gilt Mounted Tigerware Jug.

A very fine and early Elizabethan tigerware jug, the mounts in excellent condition, and the stoneware a beautiful and highly polished deep-brown color.
The German stoneware jug with typical allover mottled brown glaze, fitted with a silver-gilt hinged gadrooned cover, foliate scrollwork collar and stiff leaf-tip foot rim, the thumbpiece as crossed flowers, the panels on either side of the handle inscribed 1560, fully marked on collar and cover.
