Exquisite early 20th Century French Art Deco bronze figurine of a beautiful dancer in a stylised pose balancing a marble ball in one hand whilst standing on her right leg above a six pointed star, the bronze with excellent cold painted golden surface and fine hand chased detail, signed Guiraud-Riviere and raised on a portoro marble plinth.

Maurice Guiraud-Rivière was born in Toulouse in 1881 and was a painter, draftsman, sculptor, the nephew of Theodore Riviere and student of the National School of Fine Arts where he studied under the direction of Antonin Mercie master of his uncle and like them native of Toulouse.
