An early 16th century English oak panel. This very interesting English oak carved panel shows Christ on the Cross surrounded by vines and grapes.
It is remarkably similar to the carving on a pew end in Abbotsham, Devon which is illustrated in Church Woodcarvings, a West Country Study by J.C.D. Smith page 69.
It measures 14 1/2 inches high x 6 inches wide.
