Standing 21 inches high, this lovely English pine painted dummy board depicts a King Charles spaniel with a wonderful, if slightly mad, expression on its face.

A very similar one sold at the Tristam Jellinek sale at Sotheby's in 1996. It was one of a pair and the other was reclining.

The pair sold for £6500 and were described as early 18th century but I feel it is probably about 100 years later than that.
