The exterior of the bowl with large clusters of iron-red and gilt leafy peony with seed heads, hibiscus and prunus.
The foot with a narrow band of lappets, the rim with two opposing pairs of cartouches containing prawns or fish with waterweeds against a floral and hatch ground.
The shallow domed cover similarly decorated with a cockerel finial surrounded by a double band of ruyi. The interior decorated with a bird in flight above a spray of peony, the cavetto with floral sprays beneath a band of ruyi.
