Chinese Famille Rose Export Armorial Sauce Tureen and Cover.
Of oblong octagonal form, with boar’s-head handles and branch finial, painted in famille rose enamels, with the tureen decorated on either side with a small group of colourful, long-tailed birds all set below a latticed fence behind which flowers bloom and which opens up to reveal a crest featuring a double-headed eagle with its wings spread, the cover similarly decorated with the crest alternating with the group of birds.
