Chinese Canton enamel square-section tea canister and cover, Qianlong (1736-95), with chamfered corners, each of the four sides with watery landscape scenes containing figures amongst rockwork and trees by the water's edge, with mountains visible in the background, all against a pale turquoise ground with dense scrolling foliage, the cover decorated with further scrolling foliage and a flowerhead.
