Chinese blue and white pedestal salt, Kangxi (1662-1722), of square form with waisted foot, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue to the top section with a fenced garden scene, depicting a young boy presenting a woman with a leafy sprig, underneath a flowering tree outside a pagoda entrance, the edges each with a lobed floral cartouche against a stippled ground with flower heads, the sides of the hollow base with ogee-shaped panels containing large lotus-style flower heads.
