Chinese blue and white moulded teabowl and saucer.

Kangxi (1662-1722).

The teabowl with swirling panels alternatively painted with prunus and pine and flower sprays.

The centre with a flower spray. The swirling panels of the saucer similarly decorated and the centre with a phoenix amongst swirls and peonies.

The bases with a conch shell within a double blue circle. 

The Conch Shell is a symbol of royalty, dignity and high rank, the 'Sacred Lungs of Buddha' and spiritual authority, and is also one of the Eight Buddhist Symbols.
