Charming Japanese Bronze Turtle Okimono by Seimin.

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this charming Meiji Period 1868-1912, bronze okimono group of a cluster of turtles, possibly Japanese pond terrapins, the delightful heavy quality group are finely cast as an adult with four of its young clambering upon its shell, each turtle with its own particular character and of varying sizes, the underside of the group equally finished in fine detail and bearing the artist signature for Seimin, an artist associated with okimono of this type, a fascinating heavy quality sculptural group perfect for display within a cabinet or upon its associated hardwood stand in a room setting of your choice.
