Carved Welsh folkart slate shoe.
A 19th century carved Welsh slate model shoe. With hand written label to the sole ‘Penrhyn Slate quarry, Bangor, Wales.
Items of folkart decorated slate can be found from all parts of the slate quarrying areas of North Wales and include miniature chests of drawers, shoes & doorstops etc.
Some items were made as gifts or entered into competitions at the Eisteddfodau.
