A beautiful antique Sarab Kelleh woven in the north of Persia around 1910. Sarab weavers love to use the camel beige tones in the open border design. Soft ivory tones and delicate pinks have also been used. Sarab is famous for good quality runners and rugs and their design is almost always geometric, with repeating medallions.  More often the medallions are hex-column, meaning the hexagons are attached to each other through the length of the runner.

This piece has a fine lattice design in the background or a central motif with corner spandrels.  A wonderful piece ideal for an entrance hall.

An attractive antique Sarab Kelleh woven in East Azerbaijan which is one of 30 provinces in north-west Persia.
