A delightful, oversize pale antique Mahal carpet with a delicate soft pink background, gentle greens, deep blues and a wonderful all over lattice design.  We love the corner spandrels in deep blues with some subtle white ivory dyes too. Dating from around circa 1900-1910 it has been well crafted by weavers from Sultanabad, often these large sizes were commissioned for homes in the West.

Please request a home visit to select a convenient day and time for you to view this large antique carpet at home.  We travel all over the UK showing our carpets in situ.

Condition report

In general the condition is very good indeed, with a soft pile which is present all over this subtle antique carpet.  Please view the main image and close up images to see the condition clearly.  Structurally it is a strong antique carpet over 100 years old, and supplied with our durable rug underlay it would preserve it for another 100 years.  The rug underlay will add more body and keep the carpet safe and secure on the floor.
