A rare and interesting design on this antique Heriz carpet woven around 1890-1900 with lovely soft colours, using pale blues and greens in the main field floral motifs. Most antique Heriz carpets were woven with central medallions and elaborate corner spandrels. This carpet is softer in style and less formal.  The bold, deep blue leaves scattered over and around the floral motifs, make this Heriz almost have an abstract contemporary feel.  It is such an unusual design, and in a squarish size too, the border in pale blue, is a classic flower and leaf repeating pattern.

We love antique Heriz carpets and have placed so many of this type in drawing rooms, dining rooms, studies and entrance halls over the years as they work so well in various rooms.  Their colours and designs allow them to sit happily with traditional or contemporary furniture and look especially good on wooden floors.

In good condition throughout, with a soft high wool pile and professionally cleaned and ready to be used on the floor.  A few minimal lower areas of pile, but please look through all 14 additional images of this carpet.
