A masterpiece of Bakshaish weaving this enormous antique carpet has been woven in the north-west of Persia around 1860-1870 with rare green dyes in all four corner spandrels, full of vibrant colours and interesting motifs, we can see animals and abstract floral patterns.  A large brick red/orange medallion with a smaller central ivory motif, there is simplicity as well as beauty in this early design.  The pale blue border is a true delight too, just gorgeous natural dyes to admire.

Please request a home visit to see this rare oversize Bakshaish carpet at home, you can select an ideal day and time for us to visit.  We really love to travel, and have been doing so since the early 90's having visited customers all over the UK and into Europe.
