A rare and sort after small size antique Amritsar rug from India, woven in the late 19th century. Beautiful muted pink colour palette with soft golden yellows, teal blues, greens and ivory off-white wool. An amazing all over pattern with floral palmettes and vine designs, a rare size of close to 9 x 6 feet, which are always the hardest size to find in antique rugs.
From north-west India, these rugs are finer than Agra rugs from India and often more intricate in pattern and format. In general the condition is very good, as you can see from the images, with one old repair at one end. This in many ways adds to the beauty of this 130 year old rug. Supplied with our underlay this will aid to it being used on the floor for another 100 years.
Visit our barn showroom or request a home visit by appointment, we offer free home visits where you can see our antique and contemporary rugs in situ to choose the perfect one.
