American bronze snake.
An early 20th century American bronze sculpture of a snake coiled upon a rock. This finely crafted work bears the inscription of Reed and Barton, a Massachusetts based silver manufacturing company established in 1824. The sculpture is also dated and inscribed J.Munk and has likely been produced as a design/prototype for later production in silver.
Dated on the base 1901.
27.5cm diameter, 12cm tall.
