A nineteenth century Ormolu and Bronze mantle clock, eight day movement with original lever escapement striking the hours and halves on a silvered bell.

 

 The spherical globe supported by three well cast patinated bronze cherubs with Roman numerals and finely cut gilded hands.

 

 The clock standing on a pink marble base with ormolu frieze decoration and turned and ribbed ormolu feet.  The movement carries the makers mark of ‘Vincenti’ and also the signature of ‘Bernoux, Paris’.

 

 Bernoux were one of the most famous jewellers who had a shop in Rue Des Filles Du Calaire in Paris. They supplied clocks, watches and jewellery to some of the most eminent European clients in the latter part of the nineteenth century including the Royal families.  C.1870
