Mahogany free standing pedestal partners writing desk with inset leather lined top and fine narrow mahogany cross banding. The whole is in three sections, and raised on concealed castors behind the plinth base. All the drawers are cock-beaded. The brass knob handles are later replacements. Circa 1860.

Provenance; Leslie Godden of Worthing, West Sussex ‘The founder of Godden’s of Worthing and the writer of many books on English porcelain.
