An original Welsh comb-back stick chair, made from ash with a very thick seat which unusually is made from walnut or teak. It retains traces of the original and subsequent painted finish, which is wonderfully worn. One or possibly two legs appear to be very old replacements.
We first owned this chair in 2004 having bought it in Porthmadog, North West Wales and it is likely that it was originally from this area.

North West Wales late 18th century

Dimensions

52 cm wide x 46cm deep x 99cm high (seat 38cm high)
