A Charles 1st period. This fine 17th century oak joined court cupboard made in two sections. The upper part has a secret lift-up lid below the dental type moldings. The Elegant baluster shaped supports geometric molding with small ebony pieces. Angled side panels and central single door.
The lower section has a frieze drawer. Turned baluster support above a single shelf, supported on small shaped feet below a shaped frieze.
Sometimes this design of furniture is referred as Laudian, after the Archbishop William Laud 1573 - 1645.
English possibly East Anglian circa 1640.
